What are you working on these days? It is perfect weather to just hang out in your sewing room and quilt away. So many patterns, so many projects to keep you busy until it is time to venture outdoors once again. I love to use my Feather Weight machine whenever I can. It is 72 years old and still works like a dream. I can only imagine what it was like to sew back that many years ago without all the modern conveniences we have today.
I also would like to mention that in our area we have seen many store closures due to one reason or another. Just to add to what the Stitcharie said last week, it is a sad thing to see. I can think of at least 5 closures in this area within the last 2 years. Deciding to open an online shop gave me the opportunity to stay “open” even if something like another pandemic rolls around. It takes a lot of hard work to keep a shop going so if you can possible shop local, it is greatly appreciated. To shop at the big box stores may seem like you are saving on some things but in the long run, using your local shops gives back so much to the community. I don’t think any quilt shop owner does this to make a million dollars, haha, but to be a service to all quilting enthusiasts. To establish comradery and a helpline for your questions are just a few ways that we stand out. All small shop owners appreciate every order, big and small as we love to keep the craft going.
Thank you to all for your trust and patronage and as always …
Keep sewing, keep stitching!
